To make the Great Lakes Bioneers an effective community experience that is functional and supportive, professional and joyous. Building from our foundation of optimism and compassion, we strategically move forward with the visionary pursuit of restoring harmony between Earth and its dependent beings.
This project includes hosting community forums and events throughout the year, the creation of educational materials, and the Great Lakes Bioneers Conference, the fifth annual version will run October 20-22, 2006. In addition to showing the plenary sessions live from the main Bioneers Conference in California via satellite link, the conference offered solution-oriented workshops on local and regional issues, including food and farming, water, green infrastructure, ecological medicine, and others. The Conference gathered hundreds of concerned environmentalists from the Great Lakes region to learn and share practical solutions to pressing environmental and social issues that affect the Great Lakes bioregion.
