Centro Campesino's mission is to improve the lives of migrant farmworkers and rural Latinas/os and be a powerful voice for Latinas/os in South Central Minnesota.

We achieve our mission by organizing in the workplace and in the community; and by developing leaders to find community-based solutions to our problems.

Membership/Constituency:

Farmworkers and rural Latinas/os

MWSF 2006 activities:

Organized a campaign to support the demands of migrant farmworkers for better working and living conditions in food processing companies.

Organized tours in rural towns of Minnesota in support of the rights of immigrants.

Monitor compliance of City Accords that resulted from a discrimination lawsuit settlement by Latino families evicted from their homes by the City of Montgomery. Centro Campesino represented the families in their demands against the City of Montgomery.

Recently, organized a campaign in support of women who were mistreated by a company and a temporary agency. The companies complied with the demands of the women.

Offer workshops on workers' rights, civil rights, workers' comp, and other issues of interest to our constituency.
